Hi, I'm Ricardo!

Let's learn how to salsa dance together

I’m here to guide you step-by-step, helping you build confidence and joy on the dance floor, no matter your experience level.

If You’ve Ever Thought

"I Wish I Could Dance Like That"...

You’re Not Alone

Have you ever watched salsa dancers move smoothly across the floor and thought, “I wish I could do that”?
That feeling is exactly why I created Your Dance Studio to give you a clear, step-by-step path for how to salsa dance with confidence, not confusion.

Most people don’t struggle because they lack rhythm. They struggle because no one ever showed them how to salsa dance in a way that feels natural, structured, and genuinely empowering.

Whether you’re brand new to salsa or returning after a break, I’ll guide you through every stage of the journey, clearly, patiently, and without pressure. This isn’t just about learning steps.

It’s about discovering the joy of moving with music, connecting with a partner, and expressing yourself freely on the dance floor.

It’s about confidence, joy, and belonging on the dance floor.

My story starts like yours

¡Hola!
I’m Ricardo Romero,
founder of Your Dance Studio.

When I first stepped onto a dance floor, I had no experience, just curiosity. A friend introduced me to salsa, and something about it immediately clicked.

It wasn’t that I was good; I just wanted to understand salsa in a way that actually made sense.

Like most beginners, I struggled at first. I felt a little awkward, unsure, and constantly second-guessing myself.

But through consistent practice and structured learning, I began to understand the fundamentals, how movement, rhythm, and connection work together on the dance floor.

My journey led me to teach ballroom at Arthur Murray, where I learned how to teach salsa step by step, especially to beginners.

Over the past 28 years, I’ve helped hundreds of students, many of them complete beginners, learn how to salsa dance with confidence, clarity, and control. Some went on to perform later on.

But most discovered something even more important: the confidence to walk onto a dance floor, trust their movement, and actually enjoy the social experience of dancing.
That’s what shaped how I teach today. I meet students at their current level, address habits by identifying their root causes, and guide them through a step-by-step method.

My teaching philosophy is to build trust in movement and make learning structured but encouraging, so new dancers become comfortable, confident, and able to enjoy salsa socially.

“I like the fact that Ricardo bases his approach to instruction on your current level of mastery. He stresses the importance of being intentional and clear with your lead. He was able to clearly diagnose the source of years of bad habits I had developed and show me the best practices to make the corrections needed to enhance my level of dance.”
